Beliefs

I believe Modern education rewards compliance far better than understanding. Schools often train students to follow instructions and avoid mistakes. We measure success by grades and credentials while quietly discouraging the risk-taking that real learning requires.
I believe Bill Gates amassing farmland is more of a good thing than a bad thing. Too much of capitalism is destroying farmland.
I believe People with a left-wing belief system are not open-minded and are unable/unwilling to see a few things that Trump has done, either on purpose or inadvertently, that are good. I believe one must be open-minded in order to win any fight.
I believe Purpose is not discovered, but built through responsibility, effort, and connection to others.
I believe AI will not replace human judgment, but it will expose how inconsistent, emotional, and biased human judgment often is.
I believe Science is not a collection of final answers but a disciplined way of being wrong more accurately over time. Treating it as unquestionable truth misunderstands its value.
I believe We are in no way responsible for the actions of our ancestors, be they glorious or dastardly. This does not mean that compassion for all who have been badly treated is not a great thing.
I believe Governments, like some trade unions, are incredibly inefficient. They would be more efficient if all members were given increased responsibility.
I believe Every human is capable of being and doing good and of being and doing evil. It is how we treat/nurture/educate/work with each that has a major effect on who they become; on how they interaction with their fellow humankind.
I believe Working on TrueTalk helps people defeat fascism. Questions help people understand their enemy. When you learn more about what others believe it increases your understanding which leads to knowledge which leads to power.
I believe Most people don’t make decisions — their microbiome makes them. Gut bacteria want things, and we mistake those wants as our own opinions.
I believe The world already has the technology to cut global emissions in half by 2030 — what we lack is political will, not scientific capability. This means the barrier is human behavior, not engineering, which makes the problem both solvable and frustratingly slow.
I believe If you are not part of the solution, then you are part of the problem.
I believe It is the nature of religion to ask for/demand obedience in action and thought, and this causes many people to become followers rather than responsible thinkers.
I believe Republicans, conservatives, are more risk-averse than democrats, liberals.
I believe People have many reasons to dislike and distrust Elon Musk, and two reasons to be thankful for his work: 1) in spaceflight, he has saved the US taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars, and 2) Tesla and solar and batteries have increased the rate of acceptance of electric cars.
I believe Art is how humanity talks to itself across time.
I believe Therapy doesn’t erase pain - it gives it meaning.
I believe Therapy isn’t about fixing people -- it’s about helping them find the parts that were never broken.
I believe Education should teach people how to think, not what to think.
