We are at peak commercialism/capitalism and that we need to develop a new functioning philosophy for society that will continue to drive progress but also values wellbeing.

Do you think this is what they are aiming at when U.S. talking heads talk about Democratic Socialism?

I think that what they are aiming at is entertainment and a paycheck. They are not talking heads because they want to make the world a better place.
What words would you use to describe this new functioning philosophy?

I don't know, there is possibly alteady a name for it.
is Social Capitalism a good name?

This is more about concepts than names. It's tough to name a philosophy when we don't know what it is :)
What actions will best help this happen?

The first thing of for people to believe this. No solution will come unless we can all agree on this basic point.
What do you want people who agree with you to do? How can this be facilitated?
